Disclaimer: Information about the Whittier Narrows Dam Safety Modification Project is constantly evolving and subject to change based on project updates from the USACE.

Streamland Park is a 14.1-acre community park established in the 1930s with four baseball fields, a basketball court, children’s play equipment, and over 9 acres of passive recreational space. It is also home to the Pico Boys Baseball League (est. 1956), serving over 500 little leaguers annually. Impacts to Streamland Park are as follows:

  • Now through September 2022

Streamland Park will be closed intermittently for soil testing, contractor site visits and other activities by the USACE.

  • October 2022

The park will be fully closed due to construction activities and necessary dam repairs. Once the project is complete, the widening of the dam will cause the park to lose 92% of its land including the basketball courts, baseball fields and restroom facilities.
